Nanaimo

Lucy

Lucky us, we got one travel-free day in the beautiful city of Nanaimo on the coast of Vancouver Island.  It happened to be perfect weather, sunny with a cool breeze, and we all set off in our own directions.  Eventually we all managed to walk along the bay, saunter in town, do a little shopping (best boots ever at BuckleMyShoe thank you very much, and Hendrik and Bob went crazy at a great vinyl shop), and eat fish ‘n chips, (Trollers, the real deal, underneath the docks full of zebra mussels, beside moored boats).  We played to to a large, fun, giddy house, most of whom arrived by ferry from a near by island.  It’s so pretty here with the greenery, salty air, and snow capped mountains in the distance.  We even saw “Lucy”, a local sweetie of a seal.  All that was missing was a Diana Krall, Elvis Costello sighting.  Thanks for a great day and night, Nanaimo.
